Who we are:
We are a small hotel in the countryside with a community of potato lovers, situated in Wendland in he east of the Lüneburger Heide in Lower Saxony. The region is in the north of Germany from where you can easily go to Berlin, Hamburg, and Hannover (about two hours). Our passion is cultivating potatoes from all over the world, cooking tasty potatoe dishes and serving them to our guests. Besides, we publish the best recipes in our internet blog. We run the one and only potato Hotel and restaurant in Germany and need help with any tasks related to it. You can get to know the regional Farmfood and delicous potatoe recipies.

A few words about our work:

We offer an unpaid internship that gives you a perfect behind-the-scenes look at a hotel with a restaurant. We need assistance in the kitchen, service, housekeeping, and gardening—all straightforward tasks. The schedule involves working five days a week, with a six-hour workday.You must have a travel health insurance You should stay at least for 4 weeks. Please let us know when you would like to come.

What we offer:

Free accommodation in lovely, modern hotel rooms, a daily breakfast buffet as well as lunch and dinner (including vegan options) and free drinks. You can join free yoga and meditation classes five days a week, attend a weekly German course, and become part of a truly great community.

We are friends of the potato and are always looking for likeminded potato lovers from all over the world, who want to stay with us and get to know typical German country & hotel  life. That means you can help us with any activity connected to our restaurant and hotel business. You have the opportunity to get to know us, our rural life and our culture. Help with Eco Projects, Gardening, Service by breakfast & restaurant, Helping in the kitchen, Help around the house, Cleaning rooms, Chop Wood, make Music,

We are looking for people who want to live and work with us for a while.
We especially like it when someone has special abilities (for example playing guitar, cooking, Restaurant experience) and we can have fun together while learning from each other.

The following activities are provided for our volunteers:

• Outdoor work and gardening like taking care of the plants in our farm garden.
• Harvesting apples, as we cultivate old sorts of apple trees
• We bake our own bread and cook our own marmelade for our own needs.
• Prepare highlights like our weekly campfire with mulled wine and Guitar music.
• International Potatoe Cusine: cook your favorite potato recipe with us
• Help us to serve delicous potatoe meals and prepare breakfast for our guests

Very important: If you are from a country outside the European Union, please check with the German embassy in your country to see if you need a separate visa for an unpaid internship at a hotel in Germany lasting no more than 90 days. If a separate visa is required, you are responsible for arranging it yourself well in advance. Unfortunately, we cannot assist you with visa matters.

Learning opportunities: 

In addition to the experiences that you will make in the many different volunteer tasks, you can learn a lot: German language lessons, Cooking, baking Bread an Cakes, sometimes making music together at the fireplace...

Do you want to learn German?
Many things are much easier with some knowledge of the German language. That is why we offer a free language course once a week.

If you need a Certificate for your stay (sometimes important for your CV or for school/university, Erasmus ), we can talk about the special aspects you want to get to know.

Paid jobs are also possible, so it is a good idea to take a look at the various work areas first and then commit yourself to a longer period ( minimum 6 month ) of time.
